i saw it when i was kid when it first came out
nothing i saw on tv has scared me that badly before, i really didnt feel safe at night even though i live in a big city. alien abduction is like the most scariest thing i can ever think of

the part that freaked me out the most is the end, where the guy with the camera goes upstairs, looks around, sees the alien for a second and then the lights go out. evil

I saw this when I was 14 and I still cannot get it out of my head. I agree with StoneCold, the part at the very end scared me sooo bad. I have to watch it again sometime.

I would have to say this movie freaked me out too, I knew it was real from the beginning but I just loved the way they did it because it made me think still. Yes I too saw only the TV edit one with the ending of the Alien in the bedroom, but nevertheless that ending freaked me out!!! I was watching this in the living room, by myself, in the dark and at the end I couldn't help but look behind me, all I could see was darkness and that was pretty scare on it's own. I was 16 when I saw this but still man that made me scared of the dark for a while. I really want to see the unedited edition but I'm afraid I'll never seen this again...I've seen the mush of it on youtube.com, but it wasn't exactly the same. Still it scared me again causing me to look behind me in the dark...on the computer...hmmm...maybe I should look again...a dark kitchen, man that is pretty creepy...

I have to admit, I watched the film years back now, and it gave me nightmares at times, I dont know why it just really freaked me out at the time of my age. And indeed it was that alien 'in ya` face' scene that did it for me.

LMAO!

I'm in my early 20's and I STILL cannot watch the final scene. It freaks me the hell out.

Just search for the torrent of the film or you can probably find it on YouTube or Google video.

you guys do realise that the "alien in ya face" scene at the end, isn't even really the end.

That scene actually takes place about half way through the movie... You guys seem to be talking about the edited TV version.

The real ending involved the aliens in the kitchen

reply

I laughed at this movie.
And yes, the real ending takes place in the kitchen, but for me it ruined the movie.
I had good laughs.

reply

The movie was a cheap production and a fake....they were midgets in jumpsuits for godsakes...I had a good laugh at this movie, especially the fact that he records himself changing his pants...WHO DOES THAT LMAO!

I lost no sleep, for some reason aliens coming after me after watching a few bad actors on tv with cheap costumes on, is very unlikely.

reply

yet again it's the idea that makes it scary but for me too I saw the edit version and I saw the kitchen one on youtube...I can say I don't really like that ending because its not as scary, I mean being alone in the dark and you turn and an Alien closes your *beep* that's scary...now for you guys who don't get the scariness of this film try picturing some convict that escaped from a metal asylum closes the door...that's what the movie is like for us who like it, just freakin' creepy!!!

reply

I don't get why people are really bashing this movie for being cheap. Its meant to be a home video- hence the crappy camerawork and lighting.
And also, someone wrote something like "wouldn't the camera be the least important thing if this was really happening to you" but to be honest, I'd prefer to get the events on tape; one - if you survived you'd be rolling in cash and two - if you didn't someone would know what happened to you.

And as for the "why would you film yourself changing your pants?"
If you were truly terrified for your life do you think you'd be arsed what you caught on tape as you put the camera down? No.

reply

He tapes himself changing his pants because he needs the light.
He said if he stops recording that the light turns off. (Well that was the excuse )

This movie scared me when it first came out. Of course I was much younger back then and susceptible to fear.
Now the only thing that ever gets me are those jump sequences where you know, somethign pops up wiht a loud noise.

reply

very seldom do iget scared in fact i can name the film scenes that scared me

1 signs :were the alien goes past the alley way i did what he did what the fu ck
2 this whole film when i was 9 i watched this and if i watched it now it would have the same affect
3 saw 3 : that was sick man

and that is it this was so funny but scary at the same time

reply

I was 16 when I first watched this..and at first I admit I thought it was real then as the movie went on I realized it has to be fake because some of the actors looked familer. but still a good movie if you want to be scared.

"I would get high on life, but drugs works soo much faster"

reply

Films like saw do not scare me because it is about gore and blood and there is very little ambiguity to tease the viewer. This film works as a horror, despite the bad acting and improbable human characters. The aliens made it work, because what you don't see you are froced to replace with your mind.
