Loved this film....very creepy indeed. Two suggestions that would have made it better though....
1. Cut out the scene with the "English" musician interview. The way he says "big headed w*nker" is so absolutely fake, and is immediately apparent to any English person that he's an actor.
2. Lose the end credits, as they give it away that the film is made with actors, and not the real thing.
Agreed with number 1. That was way, way too over-the-top (I know it's weird saying this in the context of this film, but...). As for 2, the way we got the credits right after the part about "If you have any information about the whereabouts of these people, contact..." blah blah blah made it pretty stupid. I can however understand the need to have credits. People put work into it. On the other hand, I believe the original did not include end credits, and that helped fool a lot of people. But I think it wasn't the director's intention - oddly enough. I think it was just meant to seem real as you watch it. To have you completely suspend your disbelief for the time being, not to be a hoax.
Also, I wish it wouldn't have had the part where the Mom started seeing her dead husband. I had a hard time buying that, and I thought they could have skipped the whole traumatised mother thing entirely.
And lastly, skip the bloody shots of "experts" discussing the film (very intrusive), and the censoring. Screw the documentary approach; serve it as raw, uncut footage.
the heavy breathing was annoying. when the boys ran in one is out of breath and the other isnt! and the women all sound like theyve been jogging when they havent moved! needs some consistancy
also, the youngest brothers sniffing at the end....grrrrr
This was made before found footage really became a huge phenomenon, so if it was made now at the peak of the found footage craze, I bet they would probably get rid of the interviews and end credits completely.
I had to reply to this to say you are absolutely right I'm English and as soon as he started talking I said he's an actor! I really don't see the point him being in it anyway.
