They were never seen again. I wondered that, but time slows down as you approach light speed, so for them they may only be gone a few hours, whereas back on Earth years have passed. It would be a bit like Flight of the Navigator, but with less Beach Boys and more screaming.

Obvs they were killed. The aliens seemed to be toying with them and killing them one by one. Isn't that what the boy says? I don't think any actual abduction occurred there at all. What a ripoff! xD

If it were real, I would assume abduction, experimentation and then destroyed. Much like lab rats who have been terribly experimented on.
