Grandma's ever-present wine glass

I couldn't help but notice how the grandma had that fine glass throughout the entire movie, even during the the laser scenes.

I keep saying that there should've been a scene where one of the pale aliens walks slowly up to grandma, who's paralyzed with fear, still clutching the wine glass. The alien picks up the glass...and finishes the drink.

Just watched it and I thought the same thing. You would think that in a situation like that she would throw her glass away, but no, good old grandma alcoholic was holding that glass to the bitter end.
