I finished watching today. I got the box set for a cheap price (as well as Children, haven't watched). I saw Lynch's theatrical version and thought it was uite well done aside from obvious problems with it, but inspired me to try to get into the franchise.

Anyway, it's quite a good mini series and I don't think it gets anywhere near enough credit. I haven't read the novel yet, but when I get time, I surely will.

The Dune miniseries has some flaws of its own of course but I also enjoyed watching it. What bothered me the most were some of the lame performances by the actors who played Thufir, Leto, Yueh and Piter de Vries and of course some of the ridiculous costumes that looked more like they came from a Renaissance fair than science fiction.
