Rabban

How exactly did the Beast Rabban die in the book?

Doctor Who: "I'm a Time Traveler, I point and laugh at archaeologists."

reply

When the Emperor arrived in the book, he ushered Baron Harkonnen in to his chamber, and the Baron saw Rabban's head on a pike. So presumably the Emperor had his soldiers behead Rabban as punishment for endangering the spice flow.

Rabban being decapitated was only in the film. I'm not sure the book even mentioned his death. Presumably by the Fremens during Paul's rebellion if he died at all.

I think it was pretty clear Rabban is dead in the book, but it doesn't mention how.

reply

In books they just mention that Rabban is dead after they storm palace. In fact book have really small focus on actual battles that aren't duels with knives, not that it's bad thing for a book, but it of course doesn't work that well in films.
