The mini-series didn't follow the book exactly, but that's fine, because they mostly never do, the GENERAL IDEA was great. Also i really liked the cast and costume design much better than the Peter Lynch movie.

The mini followed the book closer than Lynch's film, but some of the derivations were not to my liking - most particularly Irulan's expanded role. I also felt like the acting was sub-par from some of the actor's, very much revealing their inexperience. Along with the sets, it seemed almost like a filmed version of a play.
I also hated most of the costumes.
I prefer Lynch's film for costumes, sets, and feel, but I will not begrudge anyone's opinion on such matters.
That's true I almost forgot Sting was in it(love his music). Sting makes an awesome Feyd. Also Kyle MacLachlan is a great Paul to, and at least Kyle had dark hair like in the books. Crap all this talk has made me want to watch the Lynch version now.
