Karel Dobry=Awesome Liet Kynes

Recently rewatched Dune, and I have to say that Karel Dobry's performance as Liet Kynes was one of the highlights of my experience. Such presence. I hope to see him in more english-language films in the future. Or in any language, for that matter.

He was indeed very good. He had a good presence on film.

In fact, I also think Max von Sydow was really good as Liet Kynes but unfortunately that role got scaled back quite a bit for the film.

A little disappointed they fluffed the death of Liet. That was my introduction to Dune since it was on the Irish Inter Cert curriculam. So, there's the nostalgia of that.

But, aside from that, there is the dramatic importance. In his final minutes, Liet hallucinated his father, Pardot, and defended his plans for Dune to him. Since it was his vison that inspired the Fremen, it is a very important scene.
