I'm curious as to whether in the novel that it's ever implied that the Baron is gay or at least bi-sexual. In the 1984 David Lynch version of the book there was a definite gay subtext while in this version it was practically confirmed. So was there or was it something that Lynch just added and the mini-series followed up on?

Actually, statistically pedophiles who prey only on young boys are more often otherwise heteroseuxal in terms of their relationships with other adults.
