Taking the concept of 'worst movie' to a completely different level

Politics aside, the only thing I can say about this film is that it is one of the worst films I have ever seen. The script was bad, it was badly acted, directed, and executed. And the whole premise of the film is a fraud even to begin with. This is mythmaking disguised as "historical fantasy". This is the americans claiming history for themselves in the pursuit of decency and soul. Except, were there should be a soul there's only an empty void, so they have to steal the souls of other cultures instead. And that's not even to go political about it.

Considering that we will always disagree on the underlying premise of the movie, I'm not going to try to fight that.

What was bad about the script? Or the acting? I don't necessarily say there aren't problems with either, but I want to know what specifically you have objections.

As an American sailor and submariner, I can say I thorougly enjoy this movie. If not for the overarching plot, certainly for the rest of it. There are plenty of inaccuracies, but nothing so bad that would make me dislike it.

The worst part was when they took over the German U boat with a few men and within minutes were running it like pros. Submariners or not, it would take weeks of training for those men to run a foreign boat like that without sinking it. Why didn't they find a few willing u boat men in some POW camp, say Communists or Jews, to help them out a bit?

Yes but there are some great reference scenes here to show off your home theater system. I didn't think the film was that bad, might be grossly inaccurate historically but as a movie I thought the 6.5/10 that it currently scores on IMDB isn't too far off the mark.

What was so horrible about it? After all, any true to life historical war movie would have to tell us how, after all the trouble the U-Boats caused in WW l, the Royal Navy was criminally unprepared to counter the German sub threat that was easily foreseeable. How the RN didn't build enough good escorts or thought ASDIC was the magic pill.

OMG! Can't you seeee the horribleness of it all? See, AmeriKKKans are sooooo arrogant that they don't spend years studying German and other world languages so that EACH FILM can include the correct spoken language without SUBTITLES! They had to include subtitles in the German-spoken parts so stupid ameriKKKans could understand it. I'm surprised they didn't have to have English subtitles for the English spoken parts, since ameriKKKans can only grunt and click and hoot like savages. Oh, wait... what's the point? They can't read either.

AmeriKKKa hereby stands accused--- J'accuse!--- of arrogantly disrespecting 1930-40's Germans and German culture that had reached an historic peak under the regime of the day. And accused also of waging a vicious war of aggression against the peace-loving native peoples of Germany, just like they did in their own land in the 1800's in a sociopathic effort to commit genocide and steal our oil. God, I hate AmeriKKKans and never miss any opportunity to talk sh!t about them.

Some butthead who uses spellings Like "AmeriKKKans" can only be considered as lame as they come
It's really ironic that some scheisskopf schwein like you has the gall to call us KKK while demanding respect for of all types of Germans, the Nazis.
