Approximately 66% of American families own a pet. As we all know, Tony was an animal lover, yet he didn't own a cat, dog or any other pet....
They’re part of the approximately 34% that don’t own pets. Besides, who the fuck is going to care for the pets? Tony had his share of pussy....cats, Carmela was more into Furio’s sausage and her status, Meadow was too busy with....herself and AJ.......would you put him in charge of an invisible dog, much less a real one????

Yes I recall that scene. Tonys dad gave the dog to that woman who guest appeared in that episode. Chriscon got confused and mistakenly took that as the Sopranos family dog

It would have made for great scenes in episodes watching each family member take the dogs on walks and seeing the dog interact with the family and various guests in the Soprano house. Maybe even have an episode where the dog ran away. Its a shame we never got to see this on the show so the plot hole lives on
