Prequel movie on its way...

set in the 60s so tony will be a kid, so the question is who will play Johnny Jackie SNr and Junior when they were younger?

reply

I just hope David Chase has a minor role. The best episodes were the ones he didn't write, and he just effing gagged out on the finale.

Looking forward to it.

I don't care for the idea of it, they should've done a true sequel earlier, but now it feels like they wanted to but waited too long, so they're giving us this. Just unnecessary.

reply

Right? Time to hang it up...ship has sailed!

It might work if they made it as more of a straight family drama surrounding Tony's childhood, focusing on all the little childhood moments that made him become the man we knew in the series. A lot of people that were more into the crime family aspect of the show might not like it, but I would, having little Tony witness the tough times between his mother and father. I agree that it shouldn't be rebooted just for the sake of rebooting and cashing in. Trying to match the quality of the crime family drama genre that the series had, in the time span of a movie, would be a very tall order.

I agree...a tall order...but nothing is impossible right? Either way...it looks to be happening so I'll hope for the best!πŸ‘

Thank God AJ and Meadow will be out of the picture.

That is some glass half full thinking...brilliant!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

A great show -- with two exceptions: Tony's poorly written, and acted, brood.

reply

Sorry but huh? The character of Tony Soprano was what propelled the show and enabled its success.
