Who do you feel are some interesting characters who were underused?
For me,
Gigi - stone cold, old school gangster, isn't seen much.
Patsy Parisi - same thing as Gigi, old school type guy, very much underutilized.
I would have liked to have learned more about Raymond Curto, in particular his involvement with the FBI, and what he was (or wasn't) giving them.
We learned that he was an FBI informant at the beginning of season 3 (September 2000) and he dies at the start of season 6 (spring 2006). And its suspected that he was a rat at the start of series when he showed no interest in being boss (1999). When the FBI was talking to Eugene after Raymonds death, they mention that he was their top informant. How could such a high ranking member of the family be an active informant for that long, but not lead to any arrest, or any cases being made against any of the bosses, or his crew?
Thats one of the big plot holes in the series. Its explained to other characters that guys like Big Pussy and Richie Aprile have entered the witness protection program. However if that was the case, then who got busted in return for their testimony? Tony would have been the FBI's #1 target
shareThe FBI always wanted their informants to take down people ranked higher than them within the family. As they explained to Junior in Season 1, they wanted Junior to testify against Tony, so that Tony could testify against Johnny Sac, and then Johnny could testify against Carmine and bring down their entire family.
So it would stand to reason that the FBI would want Raymond to gather info on Tony, as well as the other capos, so they could take down the entire Soprano family. And after 7 years he should have had something for them. And if he didn't they would cancel their deal and send him to prison.

shareThe series one trifecta of mikey palmice, chucky signori and jimmy altieri. All great characters, especially mikey and jimmy. I'd like to believe that if the writers/makers of the show had known there'd be more seasons, they'd have kept at least one of them around after One.
In the final series, maybe more screentime or even just a bit of background on the characters that end up becoming important, such as The Jasons and also Patsy's other son - it was difficult to care when Meadoe announced she was dating him because that was literally the first time he'd been mentioned.
