I'm 17 and loved this more. Also love Star Trek (only the original and TNG) I think the movie's pretty good even if you don't like star trek that much though, more about the characters themselves. I adore Shatner's Julius Cesare obsession too. "Et tu......Brute." >.< ahha

Just saw this movie for the first time a few minutes ago and well, GREAT FILM! As a 19 year old male (I spend my life playing with vintage computers) I've been wondering for quite some time if women as dorky as myself actually exist. If you enjoyed this, go dig up some episodes of the old MTV show, Downtown. There's a forum where some episodes can be had at http://www.downtownfans.proboards50.com

Well, I may not be a girl, I am a seventeen year old guy. The truth is, is that to almost every girlfriend (who hasn't watched Star Trek before) I have shown this movie to loved it. Only one freaked out called me a geek/nerd and then cheated on me after said showing. I actually found it kind of funny becuase she cheated on me when some guy named Robert and my name is Mark. So just do you know your not alone in this world.

I'm a girl and when I first saw this movie I was 18. I'm 25 now. It's one of those movies I like to put in for background noise that just makes me happy. I love it dearly.

The actual locations are/were still around for inspection. For example the book store where Bill discovers he's being watched, The Illiad in North Hollywood, isn't there anymore.

I suppose fans may have to hustle because these actual locations are changing hands so quickly.

I became a fan of the Trek show when I was 16; if I'd been a teenager when this movie came out, I would have been a huge fan of it.

About the only thing I don't like about the movie is the pervasive "looksism" in the movie. Some fans are conventionally good-looking, but not all of us are. Lots of girls/women like SF; the vast majority of us never looked like models. Neither did most of the guys, for that matter.

But, I have known people, mostly guys, who would spend their list dollar on an action figure or a comic before they paid for electricity!

Well, I'm a woman MUCH older than you (50 is only about two months away ;-)

I just saw "Free Enterprise" for the first time last night and absolutely loved it! The characters, the dialogue, the actors - what an AWESOME surprise William Shatner's performance was throughout - incredible... all of it.

Took me totally by surprise because I'm not really a Star Trek fan (thus, wouldn't have thought to seek this film out), though I'm familiar enough with it to "get" the jokes.

I'm hoping it's in some kind of rotation on TMC for awhile - I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

I'm no teenager but I'm female (I'm 45) but I loved this movie having been a Star Trek fan since the original series aired in 1966. All Sci Fi lovers are not male.

Quite right! My mom got me hooked on Star Trek way back when. Which reminds me she still has my DVD boxset...wonder if I'll ever get it back...

My wife and I are in our early 30's and are both huge fans of this film. I am more of a Star Trek fan than she is, but she loves this movie even more than I do, and she is in no way nerdy.

reply

Nope not at all! I was hooked on TOS of Star Trek since I was about 7 or 8 and I saw this when I was about 13. I know I should be ashamed of this, but I caught every joke between the two and reference. Also, I don't mind admitting that I am a proud Trekkie who it now 18 and still loved this movie!

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity
