the ending made this movie for me

this movie was mediocre at best. but the end has always really got to me. the mini-speech by affleck's dad and then the reconciliation. it worked for me. go figure.

The ending was soooo beautiful. The scenery and music and everything. I loved everything about the ending... very well done.

I agree, It fit the characters and they kept telegraphing it, after all, I find of wanted them to bring in the character of the boy's father, to kind of bring it down to earth a bit, but what the heck.

What happened? I probably don't need a crystal ball to figure it out but I got up to the bit when Ben arrived at his wedding and then I feel asleep haha!!

Take no crap. Be your own person. .

Ben decided he DID love his bride...and they got married. Sandra went home to her son. :)

I loved the ending too...because to me it was more 'realistic'. I liked that in the end Ben was loyal to his girlfriend/bride...and realized how much he cared about her. Because it would have been sad ...(and cruel)...if he thrown away that whole relationship ... for the sake of a couple of crazy days on the road...with a woman he really didn't even know.

The ending WAS lovely with the music and the storm and the sentiment.

I think either way would have been realistic for me. I love in the movie how they didnt have the bride as some shrew who was forcing him into marriage or sandra as some happy home wrecker who saves the day. These were real people with real problems I love this film

I know what the OP means. I was having negative feelings by the midpoint -- mainly due to Bullock's fun but annoyingly erratic character, Sarah -- but the unexpected last act totally changed my mind.
