Am I the only one who would pick Maura Tierney over Sandra Bullock any day?

I'm with you...and it's not even close. Tierney seems real, intelligent, and has a simple, very natural beauty.

There was a period back in the mid to late 90's when Maura looked a bit like Jennifer Anniston in some films like this one. Yes, I could see Ben attracted to Bridget.🐭

You're not the only one, but I would definitely pick Sandra Bullock, not just for looks either.

Bullock’s character, Sarah, is so erratic she becomes seriously irritating by the midpoint; it’s hard to see how anyone would find her appealing, at least as a possible lifelong companion. Ben made the right choice and the movie should be commended for its ballsy ending, which is almost revelatory.
