I don't know how much of this story is true but the eagerness of those journalists to report on Brown & Williamson's report on Wigand was pretty disgusting. The "free press" did not seem to mind taking up the role of henchman for big tobacco. And I am not even talking about CBS's initial cowardness. Not a pretty picture of journalism.
shareJournalism has succumb to the same pitfalls many other, perhaps once virtuous, institutions have fallen for. As the poster above said, "dirt sells." Everything has turned into a business, even at the expense of honesty, integrity, accuracy, etc.

Mainstream media is now nothing more than Globalist propaganda, but alternative networks are starting to emerge, and YouTube is full of great independent journalists and commentators. Sure, they’re all being shut down and cancelled but they just reappear on privately owned servers.
It’s sad to see once trusted institutions fall into corruption but there will always be a market for honest, intelligent journalism and commentary, and it’s all there if you’re willing to look for it.
As Bergman says, the free press is free for anyone who owns one.
