The "Unibomber" was found about an hour drive outside of Helena, in a small town called Lincoln, Montana. The "geologists" were actually FBI agents tracking the suspect. Once Bergman informed his own FBI contact what he witnessed, he was given a three hour head start on the attempted arrest.
