Referees Missed an Obvious Penalty *SPOILER*

When Billy Bob passed out, he clearly crossed the line of scrimmage before the ball was snapped. This would have been a motion penalty on the Coyotes and the play would have been whistled dead. If that had happened, Lance wouldn't haven't gotten injured. Just sayin'...

reply

I thought the snap was taken and then Billy Bob immediately fell forward.

reply

Dinodak is correct. Billy Bob passed out as the ball was hiked. So there would be no penalty.

reply

I'll have to watch it again. Swore he fell before the snap.

reply

Yep, just watched it again last night and he fell before the ball was snapped, which means that it was a motion penalty and the play should have been whistled dead.

reply

How about the intentional grounding when he throws the ball at the mascot

reply

Good point -- another blown call!

reply

That wasn't intentional grounding- he wasn't under pressure. Just a crap throw. Although the refs might've been able to get him on unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing at a mascot...

reply

He's in the tackle box and he threw the ball away

reply

That's only a penalty if you throw it away to avoid a sack and you're between the tackles. Plenty of times you see QBs just throw the ball away because there's no one open and there's no penalty called because they're not under duress.

reply

all the holding going on was worse, but as the former usc coach who won a bunch, john mckay, said: 'wanna know how to block? hold when you're at home and don't hold when you're on the road. so try to play at home as much as possible.'

Season's Greetings!
