Should Call Show 'Beyond Common Sense: '

Physic horses spelling out location of a missing child and they claim it’s based on real events? Come on people ...these are lies of fairy tales! If such phenomenon existed we'd have them all over the news and YouTube by now.

reply

So obviously because you don't believe in something, that alone makes it impossible? I can't say I believe all of these stories, but to just assume that these types of events are impossible simply based on the fact that YOU said they are is an even bigger leap of faith.

You need help with reading retention. I stated beyond common sense. You conjured up the interpretation as impossible. Now if you are willing to entertain the plausibility of such stories then there is a word for people like you: It's called naive. Also impossible is a term deemed not possible until proven otherwise so I guess in your world pigs flying is still possible?

reply

By all the known laws of physics, a pig flying under its own power would be impossible. Since a spontaneous, mysterious pig flight can't be 100% completely ruled out, it may technically still be possible--but with a ~0.00000001% likelihood of occurrence. However, I've never read or heard of anyone ever swearing to have witnessed a flying pig. Honest claims of paranormal or otherwise extremely shocking events and forces are not only perfectly commonplace throughout the world and the history of humankind, they are far more possible than said airborne swine. Extensive research is conducted into the former by people from all walks of life...the latter has yet to earn any serious interest. ;)

Even though these posts were made a few months ago, I have to thank you Moderndaydelilah for answering that rude post made by that guy. As I've pretty much always believe, people always use the phrase "common sense" because they have unfounded opinions and think they are smarter than anyone else.

Should change your username to ClosedMindedElitist. What you stated was implying the word "impossibility". So you, ma'am, are in the wrong. You must live an extremely dull, boring and plain life. Sickening, in reality.

This squirrel on my shoulder just told me to *beep* off!

Since you have decided to be rude and use ad hominem attacks on me, I'm going to feel completely justified in doing the same back to you. You need to stop being a jerk because I can read just fine. The very fact that your response insults my "reading retention" as opposed to my "reading comprehension" belies how little you know of what you are talking about. You don't even know the correct term for what you are choosing to criticize me for.

It's people like you who throw around the term "common sense" as if it means anything. It doesn't. It's a buzz phrase used by people who think they're smarter than everyone else.

The reason I labelled everything as your opinion rather than "common sense," is because what you believe is "common sense" is really just your own biased opinion. When people such as you get upset that other people are way too intelligent to put any stock into your idiotic opinions, you start referring to them as "common sense" because you think you're smart than everyone. You're not. Not even close.

"Also impossible is a term deemed not possible until proven otherwise so I guess in your world pigs flying is still possible?"

How do you figure this makes any sense at all? If you understand a single thing about science you would know that the basis of scientific explanation is never to prove that something is possible. Researchers formulate a null hypothesis which is the opposite of what we want to prove. By proving that the null hypothesis is incorrect, we can assume that our assumption is more likely. So contrary to what you seem to think, impossibility is a term that does NOT exist until science proves the impossibility of a fact. In basis, brain dead, we attempt to prove things to be impossible or unlikely in order to assume what is possible and likely.

I have a phd in psychology, so I assure you I am not naive. I didn't get this far in life by being naive and assuming anything is possible and true. I did it by long and arduous years of research and applying statistical measures to support my research. And even if I was naive, I would prefer being naive than being the two words that people have for people like you: JackA$$ and idiot.

If you would do your research, you would come up with a horse that was believed to have psychic powers. Her name was Lady Wonder. As I said, she was believed to have psychic powers while others believed that her owner merely manipulated her to hit certain letters. Mind you, this was back in 1927 that she became popular. She died in 1957. That is why she is not "all over the news and YouTube". Doing your own research before passing judgement is definitely "beyond common sense".

So the fact that the horse was "psychic" is still up in the air, yet this isnt quite the story presented on the show, and the event happened too long ago to properly investigate its veracity. I'm sure a lot of the stories on the show were dine in this way (ie, mostly based on hearsay).

funny when two complete strangers argue and offend each other and one of them is made to be the idiot by the other who has to act smart to make it seem like they are the "bigger" man. LOL.

I think it's funny when a person comes on to a message board assuming he knows anything about the participants of an argument and creates a post that does nothing but attempts to promote his nonexistent superiority while adding nothing to the discussion.

The only person here trying to make themselves seem smarter or "bigger" is yourself, so stop projecting your own immaturity on others. And stop laughing at your own jokes, you're not funny.

okay dumbasses. the point of the story is that an evil entity existed in the house, as seen by the son and wife in the kitchen. it could've been responsible for the death of the previous owner. but the possession of the nanny was for story purposes only. we don't know if it is truly evil as at the end it is comforting the son. again, everything portrayed isn't exactly how it happened you pussy ass idiots.

Look familiar? This is your own post from the thread about the red eyed creature. Wow, looks to me a bit like you are arguing with complete strangers! Wow, looks like you are trying to make yourself look like the bigger man by insulting the intelligence of others.

Before you start insulting people for doing the same thing you do, make sure you don't do it anymore.

OP is another deluded retard that thinks the universe must bow to the power of human logic.

Lol oh how fun it is to laugh at your self proclaimed 'intellectual' kind.
You fancy yourselves so smart, but in reality your're dumber then a bag of sh!t

OP has actually convinced me that the show is legit. Notice that stories dealing with non-Christian hings like reincarnation turn out to be false. But other stories that seem to have a divine influence on them are almost always true.

Regarding the horse: "Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and it said to Balaam, 'What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?'". Numbers 22:28

Also, the weird events that caused the woman to survive a plane crash (which was survived by several others who also had weird things happen during the flight).

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ and are 100% proud of it, put this in your sig.
