ot: an OLD old show similar to twilight zone or night gallery..

It was from the 70's I think. I just remember being very little and had the living poop scared out of me. It would do scary lil skits. I think vincint price may have done the laugh for the intro? Could be wrong on that..but one episode had some little creature or something and was haunting the lady at her house and she went to turn the light on and the little thing was under the lamp shade and attacked her..?? another episode had some old lady dead in her coffin and this other lady steals some of her jewelery or a ring and then the dead lady haunts her. shows her sitting up out of coffin and haunts her to get the ring back?? any help on the name of this program is MUCH appreciated as I have been wondering about this for years and years..Just figured someone on this board would know-if anyone would..thanks!!

You might be thinking of a movie called Black Sabbath with Boris Karloff acting as a sort of host. There are three stories and one is about a nurse that steals a ring from a dead medium or spiritualist and the corpse comes back to seek revenge. That's the only movie I can think of that matches your description.

I actually haven't seen the movie myself, but saw a copy of it at a Borders and was considering buying so I decided to look into it the other day.

They also used that plot for an episode of "Tales from the Darkside": "Parlour Floor Front", if you're interested.

Glad you were able to identify the film. :) Any mention of a "little creature living in someone's house" automatically brings to mind the "Inside the Closet" episode of Tales From the Darkside, but obviously that wasn't what you were looking for. As to the tale of a ghost haunting someone who stole jewelry (or other valuables) from their corpse--that general idea must have been based in folklore, for there is a similar story in the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books, and I've seen variations of it as well.

And they had a BB episode where Frakes starts off next to the painting and explains it's significance. The producers must have liked Night Gallery.
