Edward Herrmann

How hysterically funny was this veteran character actor in this movie as Zeta-Jones' first husband? Whether he was explaining his marriage to Clooney or romping in bed with all those hot young girls wearing the heart-clad underwear, Herrmann left a memorable impression with his brief role in this absolutely charming romantic comedy.

Pretty good performance by Ed. Check him out in Gilmore Girls if you get the chance. Different character, different performance, but still entertaining.

In Mexico senor, these are the years of sadness.

reply

Never been able to get into THE GILMORE GIRLS.

He has more screen time in The Cat's Meow, where he plays William Randolph Hearst, I didn't like that film and his character, but that has to do with the writing not with his performance which was very good.

reply

Agreed. Mr. H. contributed greatly to this underrated film.

I saw THE CAT'S MEOW recently on HBO for the first time. That was a great movie and Herrmann was superb.

He was hilarious in this movie. Totally loved every scene he was in. From the beginning when he's going into the seedy motel with the woman, to the "I'm mortgaged up to my heinie" scene. Very funny stuff. And the "Rex. SIT!" courtroom scene was one of the funniest I've ever seen.
