Do you think he could've done a half way decent job in this?
The snappy dialogue would be a challenge. ( Ex:that whole negotiation sequence ) However the scenes were he has to do some flirting. Maybe he could pull it off.

I agree that Will Smith could pull off the role but I think it would not be as good as George Clooney managed.
If you ever see the interviews that Clooney did for 'Burn Without Reading' he jokes that he been in three Cohen Brother's movies and been an idiot (or dork) in each. I think Clooney has the ability to not take himself too seriously which is perfect for one of the Cohen's comedies.
