Ass-nailer Gus Petch seems to misunderstand the term "aphorist" here, but what is the term he seems to be thinking of?

I loved that moment when Gus clearly didn't understand the meaning of "aphorist". I also wondered if there's a specific word he confused it with, but couldn't come up with anything. Still...very funny.
