He cut off almost all the way to his elbow, so he cut off most of his forearm too. But the hand is mostly just a hand with a little bit of arm still.

thats only because of the way the actor had to hold his arm for the prosthetic. it made him seemed hunched over and made the arm seem short than it was. i'm sure they woulda simply CGI'ed the cut off part had it been made more recently or if they had more money.
