the 'Burbs

This is one of my favorite movies to watch alongside Idle Hands. Super Troopers, Go, Fright Night, Gremlins.... Of course, it's always fun to have some green to go along with. What are some other good ones you'd recommend? Stoner-Horror or horror-comedies or even just really rare or unheard of stoner films. Which I know Super Troopers is absolutely not that. (Though maybe Leaves of Grass is, in spite of it having an a-list actor starring)

I'd be interested in hearing about horror-comedies in the past 30 decades, I know a lot about the near-legendary 80s run of horror flicks, I know of some stuff from the 90s when mainstream horror seemed nearly dead. And there seems to be so much stuff that is independent now it's hard to keep track of it all, from Asian Cinema to the extreme stuff, to Europe's various unique brands of horror film-making. Takashi Miike, for example, has made some really weird horror/drama/comedies even a musical like that.

Feel free to throw me any playlists you got.

Idle hands and the Burbs are my favorites in the horror-comedy genre.

Anyway i found trick 'r treat alright. Its not a comedy but it had its moments. It has good atmosphere just like the burbs and idle hands.

The signal. This is not a horror-comedy but act 2 is was bat shyte crazy in a fun and disturbing way.

I always found Bill Paxton to be unintentionally hilarious in Frailty. Speaking of Bill Paxton, any fan of SuperTroopers should check out Club Dread.

Awesome to see the Burbs getting brought up on Idle Hands message board. Both great gems of dark humor. *beep*în love the Burbs.

Other decent horror movies with a twisted sense of humor that come to mind...
Severance
Evil dead trilogy
Ravenous
Behind the Mask
Return of the Living Dead
Shaun of the Dead
Dead Snow
Tucker & Dale vs Evil
Beetlejuice
The Frighteners

Thanks for the recommendations :)

I've seen most of these vesides Severence, Ravenous and Trick'r'Treat. I'll definitely check them out. That's a really good playlist. I thought Tucker & Dale vs Evil was one of the great unexpected treats of the past few years. I love Beetlejuice and the Frighteners, of course.

I definitely recommend John Dies at the End! It's like Ghostbusters meets Bill and Ted! Funny, crazy, and creepy!

You said you liked 80s movies, so check out Killer Klowns of Outer Space. You have to relax your mind a little, or have some chronic, but its a fantastic 80s horror comedy!
