People seemed so much older in 1999.

The pregnant "women" therapy group or whatever that was seemed so mature both style wise and personality wise. Charlize was only 24 and seemed like she was at least 35 as far as life experience. I don't even feel or sound that old and I am now way older than they were in that scene. I never want to seem that mature.

That is true for every movie and every year.
Our 40 years olds look like 20 from some decade ago.
Go back to Basic Instinct and Sharon Stone acts 15 years older than her character's age, for instance.
Go to any 1950 movie and kids look like our grownups.
People just look younger and younger every year.
