Bob makes no sense

So, Bob praises the man who created the Fight Club, and the Narrator thinks Bob is talking about the Narrator. Then Bob mentiones 'Tyler Durden', and the Narrator wants to beat up Bob for that (I presume), and they fight.

Now, why isn't Bob surprised when everyone keeps calling the Narrator 'Tyler' or 'Tyler Durden' or 'Mr. Durden', since Bob is under the impression that these are completely separate people? I mean, he talks about 'Tyler Durden' as if he's someone completely else.

How does this work? Why is this not addressed? What kind of sense does this make? Wouldn't this (Bob's inevitable surprise that the Narrator is actually Tyler) make the Narrator suspicious or confused or SOMETHING? They just keep going as if NONE OF THIS HAPPENS.

How can Bob just obey Tyler and be part of the 'Project Mayhem' and all, doing his bidding, without even ONCE being astonished and asking about "What, YOU were Tyler the whole time?!" or anything? How would YOU react if you found out the 'famous' man you admire from a distance, without ever meeting him, is someone you ALREADY KNOW?

What kind of sense does that make?

As a sidenote; Tyler's system would've worked, but Narrator broke it!

I mean, the test about endurance and stamina, determination and whatnot before they let 'the applicant' enter. Bob is IMMEDIATELY discouraged and starts to leave. If Narrator hadn't interfered, Bob would NOT have been killed.

Narrator's breaking Tyler's system is what causes Bob to be shot in the head!

The POINT and PURPOSE of that whole process was to WEED OUT THE WEAK and UNSUITABLE, and Bob is clearly both (not physically, but mentally).

Narrator TOOK IN someone that the system was DESIGNED to keep out.

But as I said, it's just a sidenote - in any case, Bob really makes no sense.

maybe the narrator is in Tyler mode when Bob has that moment of realisation, therefore we viewers aren't shown it.
