Need a post-recession version of the movie

The Narrator lived in the late 90s where the economic prospered. He had some menial white-collar job and still could afford a big condo, expensive furnitures etc. A movie in which he lives after 2008 would be interesting to watch.

"We have war, we have both kinds of depression. You watch 3000 people die on live television in a show where the bad guy never gets caught, and it does things to you. A lot of people thought it was the end of the world. That was another disappointment, because that would have made sense"
