shareLots of horror movies end with the "good guy" losing, but similar films to this I would include Falling Down, Seven, 12 Monkeys and Fight Club.
shareThe Parallax View (1974) starring Warren Beatty. Another political thriller directed by Alan J. Pakula. Arlington Road has a lot of conspiracy theory themed elements drawn from that film with almost exactly the same Hitchcockian "gotcha" twist ending where the bad guys win in the end.
shareNot exactly framing, but "The Vanishing" (Spoorloos) (1988) does a terrific job in a disturbing twist where the bad guy wins, too bad the american remake with Jeff Bridges completely changes that haunting ending.
