Has There Ever Been a Film...

...that benefitted from a studio interfering with the director and imposing their own cut of his or her film? I can't think of one.

I actually prefer the Army of Darkness theatrical release with the S-Mart ending much better than the director's cut...

Late response to this I know, but when i think about it, there is maybe 2% of the movies I've probably seen where studio interferance actually did the movie better, and by then the movie was already horrible and unsalvagable. As for the good movies getting picked on by studio execs, we thankfully have been getting dvd/bluray releases of directors cuts. Its to the point where I almost don't give a damn what the studio does to a Ridley Scott film, so long as they let him release "his" cut of the film later on. There's some movies where I wish their old directors would be allowed to go back and give the old refurbished treatment, like The 13th Warrior, I'd like to see what John McTiernan would do with his cut now that Michael Critchon is dead (no offense regarding that, but he sort of ruined much of the film with his interferance many believe).
