I want to see this film.
HOWEVER. I remember seeing a trailer in theaters when I was like 9, and I remember some quick shot that disturbed me. It was probably nothing, I mean, I was 9. But what type of scene is there like that? Can I get a warning? Any scene where the artifact hurts/distorts anybody?

There is one particularly gory scene where the captain, having travelled at 'warp' speed in a faulty 'safety pod', becomes fused to the glass and is all kinds of messed-up. Basicly he's partly turned inside-out a bit like one of the monsters from 'Society'. It's a bit nausiating but there's no blood to speak of really. That aside, not much disturbing stuff, some people get killed in violent ways I guess.
Oh, and right on with Dawn of the Dead '78, it's the best! If you like that then nothing this film can throw at you is going to disturb!

the THEATRICAL preview was much different that the actual film,
they show things in it that aren't in the The Theatre film, only
Secret EXTRA's on the disc.
but yeah, it was probly the guy stuck in the glass with his veins
and roots coming out of him stuck all over the place...
or either:
the Theatrical Trailer showed that part with the FREAKY SQUEAKY
guy. It FREAKED me apart even more than the guy all melted apart
unto the glass.
For me it was the bald freaky guy in the deleted scene. The way he spoke just sent chills up my spine...and it was also really creepy when you think of what he really is. Yeeech.
Also, those who watched the trailer in the special features...did it make it seem almost like a comedy for you as well? With the choices of music that was playing and the whole "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the universe." That trailer didn't reflect the movie at all. It sounded like a trailer from the late '80s-early '90s, rather than 2000.

So NOW I'm opening it in VLC Player to watch it.
I don't like the sound of a guy getting fused and turned inside out :(
I can handle a lot of gore, but a few gross things like that make meh all squeamish.

it's not that disturbing, i've seen worse, and you should DEFINATELY watch this movie, even for the visuals alone, hell i just re-watched the movie yesterday. I LOVE IT.

So I got 20 minutes into that movie. Then the file became corrupted and I still, after seeing the trailer when I was 9, haven't seen this movie. Some day...some day I'll find a working version to watch,

I don't remember seeing gore, but some sort of distorted weird looking person (something odd about his face....eyes?). What is he and whats the deleted scene all about?

there are 13 deleted units I think, you HAVE to have the DVD to
freak out at it, and hear the Computer George, he takes over for sweetie, George has this scary ass voice...
as for the trailer... the movie you see is NOT the same as the trailer, it is just weird, different scenes altogether etc...

On Halloween I watched half of it. It's nothing to go nuts over, but I LOVE sci fi. Frankly, thus far, I have no reason to hate it. Why the poor rating?

There's the scene! That's what I remembered seeing that scared the crap out of me in the trailer so many years ago. I did end up finishing the movie and liking it quite a bit.
