I felt like I was in the Woody Allen Movie "Sleeper" when I saw the robot.
You would think if humans could do a dimensional drive they could at least make a robot that doesn't jump around like stations robots from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
You obviously weren't paying attention! It is explained in the beginning of the movie that the robot was modeled after a crashed & burned WWI fighter pilot hence the robot's era-specific get-up, its limp (built in on purpose) and its moniker: Flyboy.
