This movie was pretty much doomed from the very start.

I like THAT alternate ending much better.

The theatrical version leaves more to the imagination. I think that it pulls the movie to and end better than the alternate ending which tells us everything we may or may not want to hear.

And I thought the ending to Mass Effect 3 was bad. Thank god they didn't use it.

what you can't handle a movie without a happy ending? Well there are many 'Fairy Tale ' books where they end up living happily ever after

The voices were just temp tracks; MGM wouldn't have sent those squeals to the big screen.
This movie went through so much hell, I'm glad to see at least some of the material was made available to use.
