possibly the best movie of all time

I can't believe so many of yous hate this film. It's a masterpiece. It takes the basic plot that you see in every scifi film and transforms it into something extraordinary. And the way they constantly show the nudity to keep the audience interested..... how brilliant!!!! I dare anyone to put this film down!!!

reply

I mean really.... just try

reply

are you completely serious...!?!?!

this is really a crappy movie...it is boring and lost my attention pretty fast...watch aliens...thats a real sci-fi movie...or hell the new battlestar gallactica or the old series farscape...much more deep and involved and a lot cooler and a better cast...

best movie of all time...get a clue

reply

well, it may not be the best movie off all time, but it was a fun...yet cheesy Sci-Fi movie & I like those types of movies.

Plus, Robin Tunney showed us her thingies! :D

"best movie of all time...get a clue"

well....

I mean, of course its not the best film of all time. That's obviously either 2 Fast 2 Furious or Princess Diaries 2. Don't be rediculous. I mean really. Come on now.

Really.

Hahahahahahahaha. I liked this movie, but that's retarded.

I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them.

reply

It was very good despite the lighting and the lousy editing (ie jumping from characters so that in some versions it is not remotely clear which couple is the one floating around in zero gravity, especially as the lighting is terrible and they all have the same hairstyle.

I am sure the lighting was deliberately like that to make it not look like "Star Trek", but it made the film look unappealing. And there were far too many flashing lights. Unfair on epileptic people.

reply

Yes, the reason they used poor lighting was because they had to cover up the terrible special effects. I mean, don't get me wrong, terrible special effects isn't a bad thing. They did it to save money. Yet they still mad the most kick ass movie of all time!! The flashing lights were also added so that the audience wouldn't nod off. How Brilliant!

reply

Why did they need to save money? My sister said it was not bad for a low budget film. I told her I read that it had cost $65 million, and she decided it was not so good after all. Fickle creature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I have to agree. Until I thought that either "The Shawshank Redemption", "8½", or "Spieces II" would have taken the top prize. Oh thank the Lord my sight was cleared and I saw "Supernova".
P.S. Did I spell "Spieces" right?

reply

No. Species.

reply

i saw it in theatres and i liked it.
it might not be the best sci fi in the world, but i like it ends in a "outer limits" way.

reply

indeed, this movie is very underrated.

That's all what I have to say about that !!

reply

OMFG this movie was horrible!!!!! absolutely ridiculously horrible. there was nothing good about it.....it was boring, and i just kept waiting for it to get better. i saw that shyt in theaters and i felt like killing myself for watching it

reply

If this movie is great, then there isn't a word to describe how great
Star Wars is- a proper Sci-Fi.

reply

It was a better movie when it was called Event Horizon.

reply

Well its better than the last Star Wars film.
Actually its better than the last 3 Star Wars films!

the test of a successful scifi film is its ability to entertain. entertainment is what we're after, isn't it? sweet, sweet momentary entertainment. after the fact we may feel a little ashamed or sorry for taking part, but that is just the way it is in the entertainment industry. sex is a little shameful isn't it? and still we go for it like there's no tomarrow.

I was entertained. the male protagonist was awsome. the only thing missing was some fat bong rips. but because I live in a monestary that just wasn't possible. looking forward to a sequal.
