Call me crazy, but I actually like this movie

The visuals are actually quite beautiful and impressive, and the plot, in terms of the object, its affect on people, and its concept of replenishing the universe I thought was pretty interesting and origional. The music is also very good, and although people would say that there is too much, the sex scenes in the zero-gravity "chamber" or whatever were actually pretty tastefully done. I don't know, what do you guys think? But if your gonna comment, please say something intelligent and worth reading and not just a bunch of comments like, "Your crazy, this movie sucks!"

I know I can't spell to save my life, but I don't care

I thought this movie was pretty kool too, imho, it deserves a higher rating then 4.2, especially seeing Batman-Dark Knight received a 9.3. Supernova i would easily watch again, Dark Knight i would definetley NOT.

Think like a man of action, act like a man of thought.

This moovie is cool: It leaves you with a good feeling, plus the ending is quite humourous in certain ways.

I agree that the visuals are stunning... But it has been SO long since I have seen the film, and then it was on the Sci Fi "Chanel #5" - So I do not know what Sci Fi chopped out of it, but they always do, and that's lame-lame Lame and Lame!

This film is like Solaris, which was written by Stanislaw E Lem... Some of the same premises are in this one- Namely the idea that a large cosmic structure.. In this case the star awaiting impending doom- Is some kind of intellegence.

Compare that to Solaris, and there are similarities- I forget the main premise of SuperNova... But that little item about a huge cosmic structure having intellegence is common to both films.

Other than characters getting offed allmost pointlessly, or too fast, or without a satisfying hero moment, it wasnt all that bad. It looked good, had an interesting if somewhat meandering story and not bad music. A little more work, or at least alot less trouble with directors and editing. And it might have done much better.

Taking into consideration the film's extensive production problems, I don't think it came out all that bad. I've seen films with bigger budgets that were way more unwatchable than this one. The story is intriguing, if quite derivative in places (particularly to "Event Horizon") and the acting and technical effects are top-notch. The film was made almost clandestinely and then thrown out by MGM into the mid-January graveyard where most perceived stinkers are relegated to. It's just unfortunate that the film was fraught with such a troubled production. It's not a classic, but well worth a look if you see it on late-night TV, which is where it'll probably show up most often...sort of like the second-or-third feature at a drive-in all-nighter.

The movie was much better than I expected. Certainly far better than much of the dreck that gets released. Could have been more, but I suspect the director, not unlike the carpenter who starts out with a dining room table, and ends up with a coffee table, theres just so much that can change once 85-90% of the movie has been filmed.

Watch it. You'll enjoy it. Don't buy it........ you won't enjoy it enough to watch more than once.

6.5/10

I call you a GOOD judge of MOVIE!
this is the BEST MOVIE EVER !!

I remember going to SunGhost video repeatedly and having
this DVD look at me, and everytime the same copy just sat
there and I finally got it...

I watched it twice daily for the next several months. And
it freaked me out. I was afraid that If I touched the disc
at the end that I would burn up the Galaxy.

The EXTRA's are Awesome, there is this Freaky Squeaky Guy,
at first it looks hilarious, he kind of just sits there like
a retard with his head, and then he moves, and starts squeaking.

Do NOT rely on the Movies Trailer, It is completely wrong.

I can remeber seeing this movie I just can not for the life of me remember anyhting about it, but there must be something about it that is pulling me toward it though.

I recently bought this DVD at Barnes and Noble for a low price. The title and the list of the cast impressed me, so I bought it. James Spader, Angela B, Lou Diamond P, Robert Forster, Robin Tunney, et al. A good cast. I liked Spader's "dark" approach to his role, and it kind of matched the plot, internal views of the spaceship, etc. From beginning to end I enjoyed it very much and wondered why it got such a low rating.

I think I have figured it out...as you say the
'All Star Cast'. Well it seems that people often
go for a movie for this reason, and when they see
that it is SCI-FI they suddenly hate it. The same
thing happened for that Battlefield Earth, a great
SCIFI flict. Altho not in the same league as
SUPERNOVA!

I also noticed that the LeXX: Supernova movie
and several others got taken off of IMDB
