James Spader unrecognizable

I actually watched this film in the theatre. Anywho.. watched the movie for like half and hour and did not realize this was James Spader. Was it just me? His jet black hair and dark eyes. And damn, his body was soooo cut! I always thought he was attractive (esp. White Palace), but he was so freakin' hot in this film. Which was good since the movie tanked anyway.

Now back to searching for Grand Unification Theory...

In Supernova, James Spader looks like that guy who looks like James Spader whose name I can never remember

Watching again today, and Spader looks really good here. I've seen him in his earlier works and this role shows a maturity I hadn't seen before. It's too bad the movie flopped. The plot is believable, but posters have said that the vision of the movie changed numerous times, which is reflected in some of the dialog. I watch the movie because of Spader.

I have not seen this and I am not sure I am going to because I came here specifically to see if anyone else thought he was unrecognizable. I like James Spader to LOOK like James Spader! Whether it's the young Spader who put the 'pretty" in Pretty in Pink or the mature sexy Spader who made The Blacklist a hit I want him to look like him. The pictures I have seen from this movie sort of weird me out.

My bf had this movie on awhile ago, and I loved how hot James looked in it. The movie itself isn't that good, but it's worth watching just to see how hot James looked. I did love him on Boston Legal, and now on The Blacklist, but it would be good for his health if he lost a few pounds.

Wonder is the seed of knowledge.

I don't know. The pictures I have seen from this movie don't look "hot" to me as much as they just look "wrong". I'll probably try watching it but I don't know if I will be able to watch all of it or not.

I just finished watching the very first episode of Boston Legal (from my 1st season DVD), and I just love James Spader...whether he is Red, Alan Shore, or the hotty in a silly space movie.

I just watched the trailer and he looks a little more like himself than he does in still photos, but to be honest I don't like the body in the pictures (don't see it in the trailer). It looks wrong. It's like someone stuck his head on the wrong body. Like if you stick a Ken doll head on a GI Joe body (the vintage GI Joe when he was the same scale as Barbie and Ken) or something. Oh, and I for one do not think he is "fat" now, just a little heavier than he was when he was 20 something. Most people are.

I knew it was Spader, but his looks have changed. He surely has aged in the last 16 years. The other actors don't look that much different today.

Aging does a number on you no matter who you are. He mentioned in an article that when he got on Boston Legal he sat around a lot waiting for his scenes and craft services tables were right there so he ate what looked good to him. He wasn't doing leads and sex scenes in movies anymore where he had to keep his physique in top shape so why not?

I remember looking forward to seeing him again on TV when he did The Office, but boy did he scare me! He'd lost a lot of his hair, he was overweight, I almost didn't recognize him....he later was able to balance it out and just get rid of the thinning hair. (Man he had a lot of hair in his youth...oh well) I still like James, he's a great actor, no biggie on the looks.
