Very interesting film

Usually reading blood thirsty creatures in the plot summary, it would be a hard pass, but this was a good film.

The CGI did not age very well, although the creatures looked ok to pretty good in some instances.

It's a good film. The whole ship coming apart sequence and it crashing was extremely well executed. Looked intense, chaotic and very suspenseful.

I was not a fan of inserting religion into this. Another letdown in this film.

However, everything else worked really well. Loved the planet setting.

Might revisit this in the future.

Worth a watch, for sure.

I think this is a trilogy and gets worse with each movie

The visuals are impressive. The characters are not the typical 1D bunch and I liked that few of them were leaders. The dialogue and overall writing are above what it typical for that type of a movie, but the spartan setting - a desert inhabited by a single species of unimaginative CGI critters - makes the movie a bit monotonic. Still, I think the writer was able to fetch the maximum from these circumstances and also wrote a good ending.

I remember having more fun with The Chronicles of Riddick, which I will rewatch in near future to see if it still holds water.
