I saw this movie on tv..and Gavin didn't die. Does he die in the real one..or get shot or something? I was looking at the quotes and it says he does. So, I'm confused. Anyone know?

There are two endings to the movie...The endings shown when its shown on TV and on the DVD release have Gavin alive at the end...But the Special Features on the DVD has an alternate ending where Gavin ends up on the ship with the three of them and gets shot and killed...I never saw it in the movie threater when it got released back in 1998 so i dont know how the ending went in the theatrical release...Anyone that saw it back then drop some knowledge on which ending they showed.
