At the beginning of the movie there is a fight scene in an english classroom. I believe it was started when one of the jocks called the guy in the leather jacket a "platterhead". What is this? Also they used the word "razor" a lot.

Razor is bad mid/late 90's slang for cool.

share"Platterhead" is the overdubbed alternative to the original word "peckerhead". A "Peckerhead" (at least that's what I have known it as) is a really bad jerk!
Regarding your second question, "razor" means (I think!) "cool".
