LOVE this movie, but...

Don't you think there would have been a lot more murders in this town? Knowing what causes them to kill, I'd say half of the town would be dead!

Yeah, but maybe it takes a lot to trigger them, not just as much as we could gather from the movie. It'd be kinda interesting to move to this town though. It's a very good movie and you can tell someone from the X-files worked on this one.

Spector: "Fireteam, fire at will. BRAVO TEAM, THAT MEANS PULL THE GOD DAMN TRIGGER!"

Good call; I actually was thinking the same thing as I watched it. Still, Dr. Caldicott hadn't been in town all that long, and maybe there weren't so many murders as assaults; things got broken up fairly quickly....but nah, that's too much work to defend what's simply a clunky but still suggestive plot device. I do think it's really interesting that only sexual arousal triggered murderous rage (or any other kind of deviance from their programming), but I'm too tired to unpack that idea further just now. Anyone else want to give it a shot?

I got it, maybe, since it makes them such good kids, they don't even think about sex anymore...? Well they do, but less.

I don't want to change it, I like it as it is, but I was just joking about the fact that in real life there would have been more murders. It's just a filthy joke.
