This movie is cool.
This movie is cool. IMO, it's some pretty damn good pre-9/11 teen horror cinema. There are some really good performances, espically Nick Stahl's and James Marden's, some good late 90s rock music, and of course some drinking and weed. The cafeteria scene where Gavin introduces Stevie-boy to the high school hierarchy was really well written and in many ways is much more honest than your average movie that happens to take place in a high school. I'm 23 now and I remember renting this movie on VHS back in the day and unlike a lot of films, this one really holds up. Also, I think the setting is really cool. I'm pretty sure it was shot up in Canada and it seems really beautiful. Also, Katie Holmes' truck has a NOFX sticker on it...nothing wrong with that.
