Gavin was the ONLY thing redeeming about it. Don't get me wrong, I like James Marsden, but this movie is just terrible. It's not the worst I've seen. It's good to know that David Nutter went on to better things.
I'm amazed that so many people like this film. I think it's absolutely laughable, with the exception of Nick Stahl. I'm sure they did the best they could with a low budget, but the editing was terrible, the dialogue was terrible, and what about the adults? Why are adults always complete dimwits in these movies? I realize that this is targeted at the teen market, but it would be nice if even ONE parent or teacher had a glimmer of suspicion that something was wrong.
If people like this type of film, I really think that the first "Stepford Wives" is a better movie.
I completely disagree. Maybe it's just because I'm a fan of this kind of film, but I think Disturbing Behavior captured that perfect 90s teen movie feel. The atmosphere (soundtrack, setting, etc.) was just awesome. I think it's on par with The Faculty, if not possibly better. I know I hate it when the parents are stupid and ignorant, but I think it works for this film. And I love the wise janitor character, so typical, but so great. There's a reason why this formula is used so often, 'cause it's great!
Also, great cast. James Marsden is the man. Nick Stahl is a great, underrated actor, and it's a shame he's not in that many movies these days. Katie Holmes is absolutely adorable. Bruce Greenwood is good, and they even managed to throw Ethan Embry in there!
It's been awhile since I've seen it, but I don't remember the dialogue being that bad. And honestly, as far as editing goes, the editing has to be TERRIBLE to negatively affect the film. Did you just take a film class and want to express your knowledege of it? I don't mean to sound like a prick, but honestly, what's wrong with the editing? Specifically.
And I love the song in the beginning, best song to put in there.
"Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time."
Indeed a great song, used very appropriately, to very memorable effect. Kinda like the way Kings of Leon's Taper Jean Girl was used in Disturbia. Whenever I hear the song, I can't help but think of the movie.
