I am pretty sure the song that they played in the asylum is either "Paranoia" by Green Day or "I'm not sick, but I'm not well" by LIT. They both sound pretty much exactly the same so doesn't matter which one you get.

So when I saw the trailer for Disturbing Behaviour before it was released in cinemas, I thought 'aaagggh not that song again!'
The band itself was a one hit wonder...they never did any other big songs, despite the catchiness (and gradually annoyingness) of the song...

Green Day doesn't have a song called Paranoia, and LIT doesn't have a song called I'm not sick but I'm not well. Its Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger it is a very distict song by an artists who sounds nothing like LIT or Green Day. WOW.
shareyes indeed it is 'flagpole sitter' by the one hit wonders,"harvey danger"......and heres a lil' story about that one hit wonder band,in 97' or so they played a club i was bouncing at at the time and they were the the biggest bunch of 'mamby pamby candy ass wieney mama's boys' you'de ever want to encounter,they were even bigger 'punk asses' than the bands 'ours','black rebel motorcycle club' or 'the faint',and believe me thats going some.

I didnt know it was called like that until I came to the dickie roberts: former child star board on imdb. and I first heard this on the radio, Ironically, and didnt know the title, so I searched it under, im not sick but im not well. Actually the guy is right it's "I'm not sick but I'm not well," By lit. I have the soundtrack to American Pie and that is the song. If you don't believe me watch American pie and you will hear the song. Whoever the original person was that wanted to know just if you listen to the song you will be able to tell.

I can see why people are confused, but the lyrics that are played in Disturbing Behaviour are definitely by Flagpole Sitta, they go something like this:
