God sake! This movie is GREAT!

I have to admit that when it comes to hockey I am the typical Canadian guy that just can't get enough of it. I thought I had all the important hockey movies that a true fan could own but I just found THE feel good hockey movie: Mystery Alaska! It reminded me back in the days when I played pond hockey in the good old Canadian country. The cast was great and it was genuinely good and funny. Don't know how I missed that one for all those years. Have you seen it? What other good hockey movies you saw and how you rated them? Here are those I got:
Slap shot: 8/10
The mighty ducks trilogy: 8/10
Youngblood: 7.5/10
Miracle: 7/10
Mystery Alaska: 8.5/10

At "stonekeeper," AMEN!!! I'm in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, but I have a hockey family & I think this movie is THE essence of the true spirit of the game. So...well said, eh? ?

Agree that this movie is a gem. It is shame it was marketed so poorly because it really deserved (and still deserves) a wider audience. Great cast. Wonderful acting. Great story and script. Perfectly filmed. Best of all, while I was first drawn to it as a hockey fan, you totally do NOT have to be a fan to get fully immersed and totally enjoy the heck out of it.

As for your scoring of other hockey movies, I can agree on an 8.5 for this. However, I have to dispute you on Slap Shot. Slap Shot is, at minimum, a 9.5. With the possible exception of Caddyshack, it is the funniest sports movie ever made.

Maybe 10years ago I would've give Slap Shot a 10/10 but it felt a bit too long on my last rewatch

This is a great movie. It was filmed in Alberta Canada in the Banff area, rather than Alaska.

I don't get it. Maybe I'm nuts, but I can't get through this movie. I tried watching it today and it doesn't work for me. Maybe it's because I never played hockey or cared for Russell Crowe. Oh well.

If you never cared for Russell Crowe, check out The Nice Guys. It definitely changed my perception of him
