Quite possibly the most hilarious movie ever

Yeah, I don't care about the historical part so if it's accurate, then yay for that. But that's beside the point. This movie is soooooo bad that it's good, think something like Plan 9 From Outer Space. It's freaking hilarious! Between the wigs that look like they've been glued into the hats, the crappy acting, Toby Maguire's encounter with puberty, Jewell's suckling (good lord that hilarious), Jeffery Wright's wild ride into the middle of nowhere, the nubbin, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers drunken portrayal of one ugly bitchy girl and his marionette likeness at their last confrontation all made for some good fun - pop some popcorn and prepare to die laughing!

Jetta91298, even on the human cesspool of idiocracy and ignorance that is the Internet Movie Database your comments don't fail to astound me. Maybe you should stick to movies like Dude, Where's My Car & The Cabin. This is a class film and, with the exception of the nubbin scene (which I'm pretty sure was supposed to be comical), not "hilarious" in the slightest.

You obviously don't recognise a good movie when you see one.

lmao yes i agree with you that this movie was hilarious. I rented it because of Jonathan Rhys Meyers (so I have to disagree with that one part of your comment, lol) and I was expecting this great, civil war drama...and the first time i watched it i thought it was absurd but i kept hoping it would get better...but it didn't really.
the best part for me is where they are in that one town that they are raiding, and toby maguire is in the restaurant and the old man (who i refer to as the nervous old man.... I LOVE HIM!) is like "mister?" and toby maguire just randomly snaps "SHUT UP!" and the poor old man looks so hurt! and toby maguire's whole "we'll see to them once we've had our viddles!" is the best..... but I adore the nervous old man. just love him!!! :-D
