Ending Needed Please ( SPOILER answers)

I recorded this from tv and - naturally - lost the ending for some reason. (Isn't it always the ending !!)

Last scene before the machine stopped was Tobey Maguire all healed up has married Sue Lee ( Jewel) and they and baby, along with Holt, are heading south in a wagon, and while camped, Pitt Mackeson (JRM) rides up with another survivor. He is drinking chicory and saying how everyone from the Lawrence raid is now dead - and zip, no more movie recorded.

Can anyone let me know what happened to these main characters please ?

Yes, I just got done recording it off of tv and actually got it all, I know its a rare thing.

Pitt says that he and Turner are going into Newport to have a drink, Jake tells them not to because the federals will kill them. Pitt says sarcastically, "oh what a horrible fate". Jake pulls a rifle on him and Holt covers Turner with his pistol. Pitt says " you got me now Dutchie". They turn around and ride away saying they will drink to them in Newport. Jake doesn't kill him. Next scene Holt is saying goodbye to Jake and Jewel (dont remember her name in the movie) is sleeping with the baby, Holt tips his hat to her and rides off waving to Jake. The End.

Many thanks - looks like I missed very little. I really had assumed that there would be a showdown between Jake and Pitt - but I guess we can assume Pitt ended up dead via the federals in town.

Anyway - much appreciated. Thanks again.

No problem, yeah I would have liked to see a fight between them but I guess it was supposed to show that Jakes killing days were done.
