I just got back from seeing a screening of this "work-in-progress" extended version, currently at 149 minutes. I did enjoy it tremendously, but the story's problems will never be resolved. It's hard to tell what needs to happen to bring this story to a satisfying conclusion, but whatever it is never happens. The cinematography is of course still extraordinary, as is (most of) the cast.
