It's nothing like the original Rugrats before they brought the show back in 1997. Really, this movie is mostly just a bunch of pointless toliet humor and it seems like it was aimed at kids under 5. Plus it brought Baby Dil into the picture and he was a completly unneccessary addition to Rugrats and in my opinion, helped to kill the show.

That said, there is nothing wrong with toilet humor but this film is a toilet humor overload! I mean it is almost sickening.

Had this film never had been made I think Rugrats might still be going strong today. Think I'm wrong? Spongebob has been on Nickelodeon almost 12 years now and it is Still as popular as ever.

Spongebob had their movie 7 years ago and are still fine, that's the point. Rugrats was started losing a little popularity in 97-98, right beofre the movie came out, which is why they made it. It lost even more before the second movie, so they treied again and that didn't work.

I disagree with you both...

The first two films are considered classics, now the 3rd is awful I will admit.

And Rugrats didnt lose popularity until AFTER the 2nd movie, which was when SpongeBob rose to fame.

And it became more like a preschool-aged show when the show was originally for all ages. my grandma loved the Rugrats *original version* and still does to this day...

and this movie was a huge box-office success so this movie isnt the reason for the show's decline in popularity/quality.
