There's A Good Movie in Here...

...trying to get out! All while watching it I kept thinking "Not a bad story, really, but so-o-o Exagerrated-Soap-Opera-Directing! Imagine how good this could be with a A-list cast." Gooding and a few others are capable actors, of course, but this is so-o-o poorly done. The writing goes from *Not Bad Typical B-movie Dialogue* to *Cheezy Attemp at Irrelevant Noir."

But I just can't buy that the overly-bad makeup in this is SO obvious to us, but goes unnoticed by Gooding.

It's an odd duck. Feels like a television movie for HBO or something. And also like there was twenty minutes missing.

I watched it last night and had much the same reaction that you did: The story is actually interesting but everything else is mediocre at best, and often borderlined incompetent at worst. Occasionally it felt like a first film from someone who had just graduated from film school.

Strangely, both despite its flaws and because of them, I found it to be an interesting watch. I don't regret the time investment. Even though I couldn't rightfully call it a good movie, I was still entertained by it on a multitude of levels.

I don’t think there is.

Preposterous plots filled with events that could never happen in this world can’t be made convincing even with better makeup. This flick is pure Hollywood BS — the reason I steer clear of factory output today.

“How was I?”

“Fabulous. For a shit B-movie, I mean.”
